an Imago Dei Par Vias ministry

Serving the Image of God on the Streets

"The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that's wrong with the world"

-Dr. Paul Farmer

Mission

The mission of Street Medicine San Antonio is to support the physical, mental, and spiritual health of vulnerable populations through connection, intervention, and education.  We believe in providing patient-centered care, starting with meeting the patient where they are - both literally and metaphorically.

Team

We are a physician-led all-volunteer team comprised of multidisciplinary medical professionals who don our backpacks and go under bridges, to busy intersections, in fields, or wherever we are called to serve San Antonio street sleepers.  We believe that each of our patients is made in the image of God and we should serve them as such.

Organization

Street Medicine San Antonio was originally founded under the non-profit Imago Dei Ministries (IDM).  In 2022, a new non-profit was formed - Imago Dei Par Vias (IDPV) - or image of God on the streets.  IDPV is the registered name of the non-profit organization and Street Medicine San Antonio is IDPV's sole mission.
